On the eve of the release to Episode VIII, Luke and James revisit the soft reboot of the franchise, The Force Awakens.
With only two years having passed since the release of J.J. Abrams’ mini epic, the force is still fresh with this one. We reconsider the new characters, some cracking dialogue and chemistry, along with that completely original and not-at-all-familiar plot.
There’s also more speculation than you can shake a lightsaber at, with The Last Jedi mere days away – which means this is going to be a really funny commentary to listen to very soon.
Thanks to all the listeners who have stuck with our special commentary tracks. Let us know what you think on Twitter, Facebook, and don’t forget to leave a review on iTunes.

As they say in Spinal Tap, "...this one goes up to 11". Whatever Star Wars does, Return of the Jedi does bigger! We conclude the classic trilogy era with our commentary track for Episode VI and discuss what creative forces influenced the film and how it shaped the future films to come.
Between Exec Producer George Lucas and director Richard Marquand, Return of the Jedi boasts some of the more personal moments of the saga, but also some of the most bombastic action, adventure and comedy.
Join us as we count down to the The Last Jedi with our commentary series to every film in the saga so far.

Some say Empire is the saga's finest moment and has never been topped. Our commentary marvels at just how they put together such an ambitious sequel for a film that was essentially a pastiche of old movies.
Luke and James managed to get together to record this commentary in person, which made it lots of fun to do in anticipation for the release of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.
We argue about which is better out of Star Wars and Empire, as well as marvel at just how damned beautiful the film can be.

This is it. The big khauna. The original. The classic. This is the one they'll preserve in a titanium valult when the world finally ends so future cultures can discover it and learn what we humans were all about as a race.
This has heroes, princesses, aliens droids, great one liners and awesome bad guys. This is Luke's favourite Star Wars movie, as you may have guessed.
As we count down to Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, we continue our commentary series with the fil that started it all, both to celebrate its innocent brilliance but also to reflect on where it will sit in the wider saga from now on.

Back to the Future. Death Star! Yavin IV! AT-STs! Gareth Edwards and the good people at Lucasfim made a cracking action/adventure film with Rogue One.
Dealing in both some of our fondest memories of the classic trilogy and brining plenty of new characters, and a cerain edge to the filmaking, the first Star Wars spin-off was a pleasure to watch.
In anticipation for The Last Jedi, Luke and James dicuss what it's bean like to live with the film since release and where it sits snuggly within the saga.

Lucas and company bring their A game to the conclusion of the prequel trilogy, and Luke and James are here to enjoy every minute of it with our third commentary track.
The film was the least savaged critically and by the fandom. Today, it remains an epic action/drama movie - stripped of extensive subplots, we focus on Anakin Skywalker and his downfall.
This one was a big deal after the lukewarm response to Episode II. Who could forget the estimated loss of $627m to the US economy as people pulled sickies to go and see the film on opening day.
Enjoy the commentary and let us know how you feel about Episode III by getting in touch on the website, or Twitter and Facebook.

Who hates sand? We all hate sand! Luke and James count down to Episode VIII: The Last Jedi with a commentary track for the second episode in the Star Wars saga.
Attack of the Clones is infamous for its dialogue and some say stilted love scenes between Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman. However, whatever your view on those points - it boast some of the most significant expansions of the Star Wars mythology more than any movie in the series. Whether it's the reveal that Uncle Owen was Anakin's brother-in-law, Count Dooku's revelation of the real phantom menace, or the realisation that perhaps the Republic and the Empire are one of the same - there's plenty to celebrate and discuss.
So before you hit skip, wait a Mynock minute and revel in the fantastic world building within Attack of the Clones.

We kick off our countdown to Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, with a series of commentaries covering the complete saga so far.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace is an interesting movie for James and Luke. Released in 1999, this came out when the summers felt longer and there were definitely more birds wheeling leisurely through the air. You're only 12 years old once in your life - so we reminisce about Racer on the N64, how annoying the Otoh Gunga level was on PC, and how we feel about the film today.
Keep watching the skies for the rest of our commentary series, released every week and we ramp up to Episode VIII.

We wouldn't be caught dead without a trailer reaction show released so quickly we haven't even had time to digest the very footage we're discussing. Luke and James give YouTube a good work out; freeze framing those two minutes frame by Jedi-lovin' frame.
There's lots of rabid speculation and riffing on rumours that have been doing the rounds - so you have been warned.
As ever, please leave reviews on iTunes and Stitcher, and please let us know if you agree/disagree with anything we've said. Tweet us @localtroublepod or get in touch on Facebook.

Luke and James also talk 'autobiographical collecting' and Indiana Jones 5.
