We kick off our countdown to Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, with a series of commentaries covering the complete saga so far.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace is an interesting movie for James and Luke. Released in 1999, this came out when the summers felt longer and there were definitely more birds wheeling leisurely through the air. You're only 12 years old once in your life - so we reminisce about Racer on the N64, how annoying the Otoh Gunga level was on PC, and how we feel about the film today.
Keep watching the skies for the rest of our commentary series, released every week and we ramp up to Episode VIII.

We wouldn't be caught dead without a trailer reaction show released so quickly we haven't even had time to digest the very footage we're discussing. Luke and James give YouTube a good work out; freeze framing those two minutes frame by Jedi-lovin' frame.
There's lots of rabid speculation and riffing on rumours that have been doing the rounds - so you have been warned.
As ever, please leave reviews on iTunes and Stitcher, and please let us know if you agree/disagree with anything we've said. Tweet us @localtroublepod or get in touch on Facebook.

Trevorrow out! Abrhams in! Game of Directors continues with the Lucasfilm top brass. We talk through our initial reactions and how this contrasts to the 'good old days' when the director would call all the shots and take names themselves.
We chat extensively about this article from The Vulture which allegedly details some of the working relationship between Trevorrow and Lucasfilm heads.

Never ones to simply jump on air for an hour and add to the ubiquitous hyperbole of venomous internet ranting, Luke and James record a special 'reaction' show following the departure of Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
We talk about how the Star Wars formula seems to be taking shape for the latest round of movies in the post-Lucas era and speculate as to what we can expect from Ron Howard - and the creative approach to the franchise in general.
